Mornings With Faith ~ The Rock And The Rollator

Since I need to rest and catch my breath frequently on our walks, I ordered a walker, or as I like to call them, a rollator. It has arrived, but I haven't unpacked it. Kenny will help me today.

I don't need to use it in town, I have my cane to help me there. So for now, I will only use it on our walks, and with that in mind, I ordered one with sturdy terrain tires.  Of course, it's blue. 

So once I get it going, I can stop and rest any time, which I hope will lead to longer walks. I still love to walk, there's nothing wrong with my legs, just this breathing issue. I'm actually seeing the cardiologist today, hopefully, after the tests I've had, he will have some answers for me. I'm a bit worried and scared, but will deal with it. 

All these years, I've rested on our big rock in the front yard and probably still will. Both Faith and I love to sit on the rock to relax and look at the mountains that surround us. We will still sit on our rock, I'm sure of it.

I love her ears and the fluffy fur on her neck.

As we sit there, we may turn into shadows. But don't worry, we always return to our real selves after a while.

Yellow Land

It's very dry here now, I can't remember when it last rained. This is not unusual, on the average it rains one day each month in June, July and August, but I don't remember any rain this summer.   

 The average is two days for September and October, so hopefully, some rain will come soon.

I'm sure those few days help vegetation and animals a lot. 

And when it doesn't rain as expected, both suffer. 

While waiting for the rain, I will see how well Mark fixed the water leak from my outdoor pump, maybe it can be unfixed a little so some water drips out. 

Patiently Waiting For Breakfast

Feeling energetic one morning a couple of weeks ago, I drove up to Joyce's place in time to watch her and her sister feed the animals and milk a cow that needs milking. 

I was first to arrive and was greeted by her horses and the two donkeys.

Everyone was looking at me, hopefully, but I had to disappoint. 

Next time I go to the store, I will buy carrots. 

Because this is the best way to start my day, I will come here at least once a week from now on.  

And that my well be the only New Year's resolution I will make.

Then food arrived and was distributed. Here the llamas are enjoying their breakfast. 

And I had a lovely morning. 

 

Morning Walks

 

I'm enjoying our morning walks much more now that the weather has turned cool and crisp. There are no spectacular fall colors where I live, the leaves on my only deciduous tree, a cottonwood, turn yellow, and that's all.

 

Some days we walk along the fence line at the bottom of my property and uphill a bit, but not as far as before. I often stay on my road, which goes around the house and circles back to my gate. There are no flat roads on my property, so I do get a small workout. 

Faith doesn't care, she has no idea what it means to go for a walk, she always runs. 

I love our morning walks/runs.  

Faith: I do too, but it bugs me when you forget we need to go and just stay in bed with your computer or need to go to town and see someone called a doctor or a grocery store. 

Me: Well, sometimes people have other things to do. And I buy bananas and dog food and treats in the grocery store. 

Faith: Seems to me like there should be time for both.

Me: You are not wrong about that.

Faith: I'm never wrong.
