Sunday Morning Reflections

Reflecting on Thanksgiving, a day I spent being thankful for my beautiful, kind and caring friends; my, in spite of all the setbacks, still very good health; my home in the midst of nature and my very smart, caring and protective dog, Faith.

We all know it's important to feel gratitude and for me it changed the mood I've been in for the past few weeks.

I felt a bit depressed and down because I simply didn't feel well physically. Spending Thanksgiving thinking on things and realizing how much I have to be thankful for, changed all that.

And I began to feel better physically as well.

It's all so interconnected, isn't it?

  1. yes, it is interconnected, the brain is tied to the body and from research the brain is what causes the gut to have IBS symptons. the brain can make us phyically ill for sure. glad you are feeling better and that you did it without meds or doctors

I was having exactly that sort of conversation with my sister this past week; how important mental health for our general sense of well-being, and that so much of our physical state is controlled by that. So glad that sitting in gratitude has raised your spirits! YAM xx

  3. Yes, there's an element of decision in how happy we are. It's good to be able to consider what's good in our lives.

  4. You are so right about how we feel affects our health. Sometimes we have to give ourselves a pep talk to counting our blessings is a big part of feeling grateful and loved by our friends. Every human needs a connection to other people and to feel loved.

This is a time of the year that I like to dig out a puzzle to destress, but this year, my life has been too busy to even start a puzzle.

Wishing you a blessed Sunday with your faithful guard dog, Faith. Hugs,
    Julia

We don't have a Thanksgiving holiday here, but I thank God every single day for being alive and able to pray to Him asking for well-being.
