As I read Thoreau's words, I wondered if perhaps they had been cutting down trees in the vicinity of Walden Pond. I don't know how much of the land around there was his.

Man wants to harness and control everything, but not yet the clouds.
ReplyDeleteWhere I live, a lot of the clouds are contrails from the jets criss crossing the sky from major airports!
ReplyDeleteits a lovely sentiment from the past and I get it. Now the world is cutting down the clouds with pollution, there is so much in the atmosphere from burning of fuels that the clouds can't rain on us. oil and coal and people are cutting down the clouds
ReplyDeleteI think it is horrible that they are clearing the Amazon, ruining the oxygen on our planet and killing the animals as a result.
